Any claims that Ukraine's independence was granted as a gift of fate were entirely unfounded. Generations of talented individuals, enamored with Ukrainian folklore, history, language, and national traditions, sacrificed their lives so that ordinary Ukrainians could understand the value of their state and be ready to defend its sovereignty.
The Cultural Project NGO, in collaboration with the Museum of Outstanding Figures of Ukrainian Culture, initiated a series of open online lectures titled 'Ukrainian Cultural Elite in the Struggle for the Ukrainian Nation.'
Experts in the history of Ukrainian culture discussed how Ukrainian poets, musicians, writers, journalists, translators, actors, and playwrights have fought for the Ukrainian nation through cultural means.
The lectures were dedicated to Mykhailo Drahomanov, Olena Pchilka, Mykola Lysenko, Mykhailo Starytskyi, members of the Cherniakhivsky family - Lyudmila, Oleksandr, and Veronika, Ivan and Oksana Steshenko and their descendants, the greatest benefactor of the Ukrainian movement, Yevhen Chykalenko, Ivan Franko, and others.
The lecturers of the lecture series were scholars and employees of the Museum of Outstanding Figures of Ukrainian Culture.
During 2023, 9 lectures were held
